University Procedures on Equity Compliance & Education Complaints

The University is committed to maintaining learning and working environments that are free from all forms of harassment and discrimination. Each member of the community is responsible for fostering civility, for being familiar with this policy, and for refraining from conduct that violates this policy. Accordingly, harassment based on an individual's gender, marital status, pregnancy, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, veteran status or other legally protected characteristic is prohibited. The University will not tolerate harassment, sexual harassment or retaliation in the workplace or educational environment whether committed by managers, faculty, administrators, staff, or students, or by visitors to our institution of higher learning.

Caroline Laguerre-Brown, Director, Equity Compliance & Education, is responsible for the investigation and resolution of discrimination complaints received from faculty, staff, and students at Johns Hopkins University. In addition, Ms. Laguerre-Brown provides mediation services for University related issues, as well as, education/training on sexual harassment. You can find a list of services below.

 

Procedures for Filing a Complaint

    If you would like to file a discrimination complaint, you may fax or mail the complaint form to: Caroline Laguerre-Brown, Director, Equity Compliance & Education.
    In addition, you will also need to schedule an appointment to meet with the Equity Compliance & Education Officer to discuss your complaint. You can schedule an appointment by contacting Ryan Patanaphan by Telephone: 410.516.8075 or TTY: 410.516.6225
