In 1994, The Johns Hopkins University implemented the Sexual Harassment Prevention and Resolution Program. Its purpose is to prevent and resolve issues of sexual harassment. Befitting educational institutions, prevention is approached through education and training.

Resolution is provided through timely response to complaints through formal and informal means through a network of confidential consultants who are trained to assist in the resolution of questions, concerns or complaints related to sexual harassment. Resolution processes may range from informal, one-on-one coaching to a formal investigation to determine if there are inappropriate behaviors in the academic or work environment and, if so, determine what corrective measures are appropriate.
