Case Studies

If you travel to the different campuses and meet with students, staff, and faculty, you will generally hear the same types of questions asked: What IS sexual harassment? Does it mean I can’t even ask someone out on a date or tell a joke anymore? What happens if I file a complaint, do I have to go through some kind of a hearing?

This section has been provided for two reasons:
  • to anticipate some questions you may have and enable you to seek answers in a private setting and

  • apply some of the principles of sexual harassment to a case study, specifically designed to address issues that may arise in the academic vs. work environments, and from the perspective of both a person who may feel harassed as well as the alleged harasser.

If, after visiting this section of our website, you have additional questions or a situation you would like to discuss, we invite you to contact an SHPRP Confidential Consultant or the Director, Equity Compliance and Education to schedule an appointment.
